Terms of use
Short, and mostly about the library.
These cover the website and the free resources. Client work is governed by your proposal and agreement, which always takes precedence.
What these cover
These terms cover your use of this website and the free resources published on it. They do not cover client engagements — those are governed by the proposal and agreement signed for that specific project, which always takes precedence.
The free library
The guides are free to download, read, print and share, including with your own clients and colleagues. You do not need our permission and no attribution is required.
You may not resell them, present them as your own work, or strip the attribution and republish them as your firm's content. Beyond that, use them however is useful.
Accuracy, and its limits
The guides cite their sources so you can verify them. We take that seriously and review them periodically — but search engine behaviour, platform requirements and regulations change, sometimes quickly. Nothing published here is professional, legal, financial or medical advice.
Where a guide summarises a rule or a regulation, that summary is written in plain language for general guidance. For anything consequential, check the primary source or take advice.
The tools
Any calculators, scorecards or checkers on this site are provided as-is for general guidance. They do not audit your business, and their output is not a professional opinion. Where a tool queries a third-party service, that is disclosed on the tool itself.
What we don't promise
We make no guarantee about search rankings, traffic, conversion rates or revenue — from the guides, the tools, or any work we do. Anyone who does guarantee those things is either misunderstanding how search works or is describing something that violates a platform's rules.
Our content
The writing, design and code on this site are ours unless stated otherwise. Third-party fonts, images and libraries remain governed by their own licences.
Changes
If these terms change materially, the date below changes with them.
